Privacy Policy
Effective date: 9 October 2026 · Developer: Nadeem Hassan
In short: ABC Learner collects nothing. It works entirely on your device and never connects to the internet. There is no account, no adverts, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing is ever sent to the developer or to anyone else.
This policy explains how the ABC Learner app for iPhone and iPad handles information. It describes the version of ABC Learner currently available on the App Store, and it applies to ABC Learner only — my other apps have their own separate policies.
A note for parents
ABC Learner is made for young children learning their letters. It was built so that there is nothing for a child to get wrong: no sign-in, no adverts, nothing to buy once the app has been purchased, and no way for a child to wander out of the app by accident.
Nothing leaves your device
ABC Learner contains no networking code at all. The app does not make internet requests, so there is no server to receive information and nothing to intercept. The pictures, the letter recordings and the spoken words are all built into the app itself and play from your device.
Because of this, the app works perfectly in Aeroplane Mode.
No account and no personal information
There is no sign-in, no registration, no profile and no email address. ABC Learner does not ask for, collect, or store your name, your child's identity, your location, your contacts, your photos, your microphone or your camera. The app requests no system permissions.
Names saved for the spelling activity
ABC Learner includes an activity called Spell a Name. A grown-up can type a name — a child's name or a family member's — so that the child can practise spelling a word that matters to them.
- The name is saved only on your own device, in the app's private storage, so it can be offered again next time.
- The app keeps up to the eight most recently used names. Older ones are dropped automatically.
- Saved names are never transmitted, never shared, and never seen by the developer. They cannot leave your device through the app.
How to remove a saved name
There are two ways, and both are completely under your control:
- Remove one name: open Learn Spelling → Spell a Name, then touch and hold the name you want to remove and choose Remove. It is deleted from your device immediately.
- Remove all names: delete the ABC Learner app from your device. All saved names are stored inside the app, so they are removed with it.
One thing worth knowing: if you back up your iPhone or iPad to iCloud or to a computer, that backup is made by Apple's system and includes the app's stored data, which means it can include the list of saved names. That backup is yours and is covered by Apple's privacy policy, not by this one. Removing a name in the app removes it from future backups.
No adverts, analytics, tracking or third-party services
ABC Learner contains:
- no adverts and no advertising networks;
- no analytics or crash-reporting services;
- no tracking, no advertising identifier (IDFA) and no App Tracking Transparency prompt;
- no third-party software development kits of any kind;
- no cookies, and no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Nothing about your child's use of the app is measured, profiled or shared.
Leaving the app
There is exactly one link in ABC Learner that opens outside the app: the link to this privacy policy, inside the Parents area. It sits behind a short question that a young child is unlikely to answer, so it will not be opened by accident. There are no other external links anywhere in the app.
Children's privacy
ABC Learner is intended for young children and is designed to be safe for them. Because the app collects no personal information and sends nothing anywhere, there is no personal data of a child — or of anyone else — for the developer to hold, use or disclose.
This website
This page is a plain, static web page on nadeem.org.uk. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party scripts or fonts.
The website is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes the ordinary technical information needed to deliver a page — such as your IP address, the time of the request and your browser type — and may retain it briefly in server logs for security and reliability. I do not use that information to identify visitors, and I do not combine it with anything from the app.
Changes to this policy
If ABC Learner changes in a way that affects this policy, I will update this page and change the effective date above.
